Lyn Crawford runs the Jackson Friends of the Animal Shelter in Mississippi, United States, a volunteer group that cares for and helps give adoption to animals that have been found in the streets for animal control. She received a message from a woman named Joyce who had just lost someone dear to her.

Lyn told The Dodo:

“Her dog, Daisy, had gotten out of her backyard on June 20 and went missing. She couldn’t find her anywhere, she sent us a picture of the dog, asking that we keep an eye out for Daisy. She was so worried.”

Lyn showed the picture to her companions, but as the days went by without signs of Daisy, the hopes of finding her began to diminish. But soon something changed.

Lost dog can not believe she’s seeing his mom again

Jackson Friends of the Animal Shelter

Lyn said:

“One of our volunteers was at the shelter when, just that minute, a shelter worker brought a dog out, our volunteer took a picture of the dog and sent it in. Then one of our other volunteers saw it and said, ‘I think that’s the dog that Joyce messaged us about a couple of weeks ago. I think it might be the same dog!’”

Although they could not identify it with certainty, the dog in the photo looked like Daisy.

Lyn said:

“She looked so scared, it was hard to tell if it was the same dog,”

Then, Lyn sent the photo to Joyce. Even she was not sure if it was really Daisy.

Jackson Friends of the Animal Shelter

Lyn said:

“She said she didn’t know because she’d never seen her dog looking so scared, so our volunteer asked Joyce to meet her at the shelter to see if it was her. Joyce left work and went to the shelter.”

In this video we can see the moment when the frightened little dog appeared and was reunited with her mother.

Lyn said:

“They asked Joyce, ‘Is this your dog?’ But after Daisy saw her, there was no doubt at all.”

Immediately Joyce and Daisy’s sad faces were replaced by the joy of meeting.

Lyn said:

“We’re just thrilled. Happy endings like this just make us so excited, Joyce is just so grateful to have Daisy back. It makes all the hard work definitely worth it.”

Pippin is a loving donkey who loves to receive kisses and caresses from everyone he meet, especially from your caregiver

The post This loving donkey does not stop kissing the man who saved his life appeared first on The Bilbies.

When the rescuers found Pippin, his body was covered in scratches and his face was dirty. He barely raised his head, and his eyes looked very dull and tired. Only a glance was needed to know how lonely and depressed Pippin was.

In 15 years, the donkey had already been sold and changed to a dozen different houses over the years, and it was likely that, after all that time, he would never have had a friend.

Laura Llácer, co-founder of the Santuario Compasión Animal, a sanctuary in Valencia, Spain, said:

“A worker from the store where we buy the feed for the animals told us about a man who wanted to get rid of a donkey, when we saw his picture, we went for him. He was not well in that place.”

Santuario Compasión Animal

Pippin was in a small pen, and his owner told Laura that he had tried to escape recently, so he was trapped under the door and that’s why he ended up hurting himself.

Laura said:

“When he was climbing into the trailer, we saw his sadness and resignation, what moved us most was that this was the 13th time he was changing homes. We promised him that he would never have to say goodbye again.”

Santuario Compasión Animal

Pippin was quite scary because of his previous life. Every time his caretakers tried to sweep near him, he was frightened and ran as far as possible, as if he had once been beaten with a broom. He also became very nervous if they touched his ears.

In addition to suffering emotional neglect, Pippin’s body also needed time to heal. His hooves were badly damaged and his muscles were weak due to poor diet and he did not have enough space to exercise.

Santuario Compasión Animal

But despite everything that has happened, Pippin was so sweet to his caregivers, and he stayed quiet for minutes while being caressed. But what Pippin likes most are kisses.

Laura said:

“From the first moment that Pippin met us, he was affectionate to us, trying to get our attention, he would call us when he saw us so that we would come to see him.”

Little by little, Pippin began to form a special bond with his caretaker, Alberto Terrer, co-founder of the sanctuary. The man set out to caress and kiss Pippin daily, and Pippin caressed him with his nose.

Santuario Compasión Animal

Laura said:

“Above all, he has a special bond with his caregiver Alberto, he always seeks to receive kisses and caresses from him.”

It’s been over a year since Pippin was rescued, and he has become more affectionate with Alberto and his new friends. Pippin loves the sanctuary volunteers, the other donkeys and the cows. He loves them almost as much as he loves to eat apples, his new favorite snack since he arrived at the sanctuary.

Santuario Compasión Animal

Pippin healed so fast, that his rescuers credit one thing for his amazing recovery: the company.

Laura added:

“He had to spend the first months while he was recovering away from the other donkeys, whom he saw playing from afar, when they finally met, Pippin was super affectionate with them… As if they were the friends he had always wanted to have.”

Santuario Compasión Animal

There is no doubt that this donkey is very happy now, and we hope it will continue for many years to come.

When the mother is not at home, things get ugly for any father. But if we talk about dogs, then it can not be more funny, because for small puppies like this Bóxer litter, there is nothing in the world more tempting than breast milk.

The most basic thing about baby animals is that they love to be breastfed. If it were for them, they would be glued to their mothers’ breasts 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Hungry puppies follow dad for food

Only a mother knows how to say that enough is enough. But, if she is absent for an hour or so, what would the father do? Find out in this nice video:

In the video we can see an adorable litter of puppies from Portsmouth, Ohio, (United States), when his mother is not present. The children are hungry and believe that their father, Remo, would be an excellent substitute. So, when they see him, everyone runs towards him with great expectations.

But, Remo had no idea what poor mother goes through every day, now he must have an idea of how difficult it is to raise children.

Although he is far from being physically equipped to deal with the issue at hand, Remo does everything possible to keep the pups from nibbling on him and anything to maintain his dignity.

Remo has to escape again and again from his pups.
