Beryl is far from being an ordinary cow. This Australian cow thinks it is a dog, after all, it grew up next to two cubs. Although this did not prepare Sally Webster, the owner of an Australian ranch, to the surprise the 8-month-old animal gave her when she returned home after a day of shopping.

Beryl was born in August of 2015. Her mother died of complications after her birth, leaving her orphaned only 2 days old. Sally took Beryl in the warmth of her home and fed her with a bottle, until she was big enough and strong enough to live and graze outside.

Beryl thinks she’s a dog

But that has not stopped him from forgetting the comforts of home.

“She just likes to try and get in when she sees an open door”

Told Sally to The Dodo.

“She has an amazing memory and is very smart, so she knows where the calf milk lives in the laundry.”

Sally says the day she found her in the living room took her by surprise.

“The day she was caught in the lounge took me by surprise. I really didn’t expect to see her making herself comfortable sitting on the carpet”

Beryl is not only intelligent, she is well behaved, there was no mess or broken articles when Sally found her sitting in the middle of the living room. Apparently, the cow had just sat down to wait.

She also added that she thinks Beryl likes to feel comfortable in the carpets, because when she was a baby, she had her own blanket that used to sleep in her every night.

Beryl recognizes the voice of her family. If she is grazing outside and is not in sight, just mention her name out loud and she comes running and roaring. She is also a very good sister, loves the puppies Fred and Wilma have grown up with.
